The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has developed an Education Business Partnership that brings together schools, colleges, businesses and the voluntary sector to form mutually beneficial partnerships. Projects include the provision of student work placements, industry visits, employer placements in schools and teacher placements in industry.
The Council wanted to develop a stand-alone website for the Education Business Partnership independent of its own site to promote its work
and the opportunities on offer to students, employers, schools and colleges.
We researched EBP services across the country to identify key strengths and weaknesses prior to submitting our proposal for an effective and user friendly website for Kensington and Chelsea.
Key audiences are catered for with dedicated areas of the site for employers, young people, parents/carers and professionals. Each has a pop up form which can be completed online, with the data captured used to match young people and employers for work experience placements based on their selected industries and disciplines, or to obtain feedback.
Each audience group also has relevant case studies showcasing young
people, employers and professionals who have benefited from working with the EBP, and a resources page with links to PDFs such as newsletters and fact sheets. A calendar of events can also be filtered to those events specific to a particular group.
The EBP previously relied on limited information provided via a page on the Council's website. It now has a dedicated website with areas for each of the key audiences.
New links and partnerships between schools and industry can be established via online requests from any of the four target audiences, with the data captured channelled to administrators whose role it is to manage specific activities and relationships.
